On the road to photo-shoot this car I had random thoughts. This car is one of the trademarks of my home town tuning scene. Even the title is not enough for this car since this car took part to, and won, most of the events available in Crete. Drag racing, autocross and time attack you name it, she won it.

When the car started its life, in 1993, it was built as an innocent 1.4l factory red Lancia Delta and surely couldn’t foresee the torture and the range of transformation it would undergo.
The first taste of racing was in 1998 when Antonis (the owner of the car) raced at his first Autocross event, where he took the 1st position in his category.

In 2000 the first engine swap took place, the 1.4l 4 banger left its place to an 1.6l 113 hp one. With that layout Antonis won the 2001 Cretan Autocross Championship and came second in Greece in his category. In 2003-2004 he took again the Cretan championship title and won the Greek autocross as well.

The 1.6l engine was stroked at 1850cc staying NA in 2004 and was replaced with a 2000cc NA in 2005. The biggest change came in 2007 when the 2.0lt HF engine was installed in the engine bay.

Below are the modifications that the 2 litre unit had performed in order to reach todays state with 500+ hp and 60+ kg\m of torque.

The interior is kept as original as possible with the only visible additions an Innovate wideband gauge on the A-pillar, an exhaust temperature meter and an oil pressure gauge in the OEM cluster. A very nice detail is the hidden in the ashtray: an A’PEXi boost controller.

The car is simply a beauty, with its red shell on bronze rims. As with any project car the owner constantly wants more and more. Better Handling, more braking power, more horsepower. In its current state Antonis races the car at the local GP Tuning (Time Attack in cart tracks) winning most of the events.

What holds the future for this car? Roll cage and chassis stiffening are on top of the agenda. Plans of the owner are to race in Greece’s full tracks Megara and Serres, and also take part in the new Formula Saloon category for tarmac rallies.

One thing is for sure, the car and driver combination will keep on taking high places everywhere they race. We wish him the best of luck and thank him for sharing his beauty with us!
